Reporting to the Production Manager, you will take a supplied design file and brand guidelines to prepare/create artwork and convert into a press compatible format, whilst also making copy and design changes requested by the client.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Using a supplied print spec, the customer's artwork will be prepared according to the requirement of the press it will run on.
- Take consideration of the substrate and any special finishes to ensure final production meets the original design intent.
- Maintain an effective and efficient workflow from the point the artwork is scheduled to the proof stage.
- Maintain accuracy on all artworks so that orders flow efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain direct and open communication with internal Account Management team to ensure the final artwork meets the clients and printers needs.
- Communicate any print/production concerns with the Account Management team and present efficient suggestions and solutions for the client.
- Maintain an effective comprehension of our workflow procedures and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills.
- Strong knowledge of consumer products packaging, creative design, production artwork, prepress and print services.
- Experience using Ekso plug-in PowerTrapper or equivalent.
- Understanding of major printing methods (Flexo, Gravure, Offset).
- An understanding of changing priorities, sense of urgency, attention to details, execution of results and support for the team.
- Demonstrates excellent communication ability using strong listening skills and logical, systematic approach to assimilating and sharing information in all areas.
- Proficient use of macOS operating system including knowledge of business software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro and Acrobat.
- Strong ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.
