Ofi, which, stands for Olam Food Ingredients is a leading global supplier of high-quality food and beverage ingredients and solutions across a wide range of categories. You will be working alongside a mentor in a small team and assist with the safe, efficient, and reliable laboratory operation.
The Apprentice Laboratory Technician will work with the operations team to test, collate, interpret, and report quality lab results in a timely manner, and to a high standard and in a safe way. You will develop the technical knowledge of scientific methods and techniques to accurately conduct and document laboratory tests and tasks. You will learn to follow and conduct risk assessments, work safely in a laboratory, follow procedures, perform tasks, use specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, record accurate data, interpret results, apply scientific techniques to present data, and understand the legal requirements for your industry, i.e., HASWA, COSHH, DSEAR. Our goal is to work with you, developing your lab skills, so you become competent in various test methods and in operating key pieces of equipment.
Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing samples
- Inspection and testing
- Reporting deviations
- Analysis of results
