We're working with an ambitious Glasgow-based technology startup that's operating at the forefront of AI-driven engineering.
They're looking for an AI-First Software Engineer who has fundamentally transformed the way they work through AI, pushing tools such as Claude Code, Codex and autonomous coding agents to their limits.
This isn't about occasionally using AI to generate code.
We're looking for someone who lives and breathes AI-driven development, maximises agent capacity, experiments constantly and operates at an exceptional pace.
The Role
Working directly with an experienced CTO who's already operating at this level, you'll help accelerate engineering delivery through intensive use of AI agents and sophisticated development workflows.
You'll be involved in
- Orchestrating multiple AI agents and parallel development workflows.
- Maximising the capabilities of Claude Code, Codex and emerging AI development tools.
- Experimenting with new techniques to increase speed, capacity and productivity.
- Applying strong engineering judgement to validate, test and refine AI-generated output.
- Taking ownership of technical challenges in a fast-moving startup environment.
What We're Looking For
Depth of AI experience matters far more than years spent in commercial software development.
We're particularly interested in engineers who
- Use AI coding agents extensively and have fundamentally changed their development approach.
- Have hands-on experience with advanced agentic workflows, ideally running multiple agents in parallel.
- Understand how to maximise AI capabilities, manage context and optimise complex workflows.
- Can demonstrate significant improvements in their development speed and productivity through AI.
Have strong software engineering fundamentals and can critically assess AI-generated code.
- Are constantly experimenting with emerging tools and techniques, whether professionally or through independent projects.
- You could be a recent graduate, have just a couple of years' commercial experience or be an established engineer.
- What matters is how deeply you've embraced AI and what you can achieve with it.
- Technology
- Claude Code | Codex | Agentic AI | Multi-agent Workflows | AI-Driven Engineering
Experience with a particular programming language or framework is less important than your ability to use AI effectively to solve complex engineering problems.
What's on Offer?
- Direct collaboration with an experienced, highly AI-focused CTO.
- The opportunity to work in an environment already pushing the boundaries of AI adoption.
- Genuine autonomy, technical challenge and the freedom to experiment.
- A fast-moving startup environment where AI isn't an add-on — it's central to how the team operates.
