Someone with the right attitude, some hands-on or technical foundation, and the drive to learn - but whoisn’tfully qualified.
Think of it as the stage between:Apprentice (learning basics)→Improver (building practical competence)→Qualified Engineer
As a Lift Service Improver,you’llsupport experienced engineers in delivering planned maintenance, minor repairs, and safety inspections across a variety of lift systems. Spending your time out on site,you’llshadow service routes,assistwith fault finding, and gradually take on hands‑on maintenance tasks, learning how to work with different lift types, control systems, and components.You’llhelp prepare tools and equipment, complete basic service documentation, and play a key role in keeping systems running safely and efficiently.
This is a development-focused role whereyou’llbuild strong technical skills, gain a solid understanding of industry safety standards, and work towards your NVQ3 in Lift Engineering, with a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified, independent engineer.
