Our client has invested in excellent food production and manufacturing facilities and related processing plant and equipment. They take product from seed to supermarket shelf and due to consistent and sustained success, are interested in recruiting a Farm Manager.
The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and will have responsibility for significant growing and processing facilities. You will control day-to-day operations and site profitability, management of employees, continuous improvement activity and adherence to the highest standards demanded by retailers.
The candidate:
- We are ideally seeking an experienced manager; however, consideration will be given to candidates with a relevant academic background and some related, non-protein agri-food production experience.
- A degree or 3rd level qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a closely related area.
- A keen interest in the Agri/Food sector with a track record in fresh produce/food production.
- Strong numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills with a pro-active and forward-thinking mind-set.
- Up-to-date Food Safety certifications and understanding.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building successful teams.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident, assertive with sound decision-making skills.
- Customer orientated and KPI driven.
- Good IT skills (MS Office).
- Driving license and willing to travel locally.
