We are working in partnership with a highly regarded and expanding organisation operating at the forefront of the building services and engineering sector across the UK and Europe. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking to appoint a Buyer(s) to join their Commercial function. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role offers the opportunity to operate within a sophisticated, project-driven environment, supporting the delivery of complex, high-value programmes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring procurement activity is commercially robust, strategically aligned, and operationally effective. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes across a range of technical categories, building strong supplier relationships, and contributing to cost optimisation and value engineering initiatives. Working closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams, you will ensure material availability aligns seamlessly with project timelines and delivery objectives.
This position requires a commercially astute individual who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive best practice across procurement activities.
The Person:
- Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical environment
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience negotiating with suppliers and managing cost efficiencies
- Ability to build credible relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners
- Experience working within ERP systems, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities
- A proactive, solutions-led approach with a continuous improvement mindset
