As the Food Development Technologist, you will be responsible for the creation of new products for a range of retail and foodservice customers. You will take the customer brief and bring these ideas/concepts to life in a well-equipped kitchen. It is important that you have a flair for food and an ability to build relationships with the customer.
The role could appeal to a Food Technologist or a Chef seeking a change of direction and move towards more sociable hours of work.
The ideal candidate:
- Third level qualification in a relevant subject area (food science, technology, culinary arts etc.)
- Experience in food NPD and product creation
- Understanding of the NPD process from concept through sourcing, factory trials and launch
- Working knowledge of BRC and HACCP
- Passion for food and creative flair
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both interpersonal and written
- Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
- Computer literate, numerate and with a strong attention to detail
