This is a traineeship program that will offer an opportunity for ITE or Diploma fresh graduates to obtain knowledge from structured training and OJT to gain work experience that will accelerate their technical competency and career progression in GE Aerospace.

The trainee will be responsible for all related operations for automated welding & laser machines.

For more than 40 years, our advanced facilities in Singapore have led aerospace innovation across Asia Pacific. From automating processes to leveraging smart factory technologies, robotics, and additive manufacturing, GE Aerospace is shaping the future of aviation at GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS). GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview:

  • The job requires the candidate to take internal/external exams & periodic proficiency exams.
  • Perform set-up, calibration, programming, operation of automated welding, or laser machining that meets engine component repair requirements.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, housekeeping & process control of the machines and associated processes.
  • Assist in process improvement and/or development, including but not limited to fixture design, programming, and machine maintenance.
  • Carry out on-job-training for other employees.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Within 3 years of graduation OR the operationally ready date (ORD) for national servicemen.
  • Singaporean/Singapore PR only in order to meet Singapore government requirements for a strong Singapore core and for the Singapore government grants to be applicable.

Required Qualifications:

  • Full Time Nitec/Higher Nitec in Automation Engineering / Aircraft Engines Maintenance / Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering / Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from local ITE.
  • Full Time Diploma in Aerospace Engineering / Mechatronics / Aeronautical Engineering / Aerospace Technology / Aerospace Avionics from local Polytechnics.
  • Any relevant Full Time Nitec / Higher Nitec / Technical Diploma / Polytechnic Diploma or relevant engineering disciplines from local ITE or Polytechnics.
  • Able to read & write English at a professional working proficiency level.
  • Able to work rotating shifts.
  • Willing to accept a 1-year bond after the program.
