Overview:
The Site Quality Manager will report to the Senior Site or Business Line Quality Manager. Duties shall include but are not limited to planning, coordination, and directing the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of systems that are consistent with established codes and standards. Must be a certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or an ASNT VT Level II with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality and Inspection. Will be required to work in the office, plant operations, or construction jobsite settings. Have a functional knowledge of ASME BPVC, AWS D1.X, NBIC, and API codes. Also, be able to inspect non-welding work as required. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Represent Bilfinger entities as a principal on-site Quality leader.
- Monitor all quality-related activities from pre-mobilization to completion.
- Support the Bilfinger Quality Manual and related programs.
- Manage and coordinate the work assignments of Techs.
- Work with the Business Line Quality Manager to provide professional development opportunities.
- Verify the project(s) understands the use of the Bilfinger Quality Manual.
- Assist with package development and system turnover(s).
- Formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Interpret quality control process, procedure, and philosophy to key personnel on project.
- Coordinate NDE vendor activities.
- Provide inspection activity for in-place products.
- Investigate and adjust customer issues regarding quality.
- Maintain National Standards and provide interpretation of such to the project management team.
- Assist Construction as needed.
- Supervise the Cost Control and Scheduling Department by completing the following: interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; and address issues and resolve problems.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., but may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Hearing and comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions.
- Will need to perform sedentary to heavy work.
- Will operate office equipment of all types.
- Will operate inspection hand gauges of all types.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting or standing, and lifting.
- Must be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings with no elevator.
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.
- Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.).
- Vision requirements include the ability to pass a Jaeger 1 visual acuity test and colour blind test.
- Ability to drive cars/trucks as needed.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/supervision.
- Talking and reading & writing comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy.
- Ability to use math/complete calculations.
- Work at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions.
- Decision-making skills necessary.
- Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details.
Other Requirements:
- Willing to acquire additional certifications as required.
- Computer literate with functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Must be willing to travel on short but reasonable notice.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Willing to accept short project assignments.
- Have or be able to obtain TWIC/TSA clearance.
- Have or be able to pass Basic Plus or equal safety training.
- Ability to assist with Bilfinger's ASME/NBIC Code Stamp Program.
