This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of our Petroleum Engineering team in Norwich. You will be in charge of reviewing wells and fields in order to maximise production from matured assets. It will be expected that you propose well interventions and workover projects, then evaluate their feasibility and rank them based on their risk and rewards. This role will provide exposure to various surface and sub-surface challenges associated with managing production from gas reservoir.
The main qualities we are looking for this role are: proactiveness, organisation, teamwork with various departments (drilling, well operations, process, metering) and the willingness to learn. Thinking out-of-the-box is another asset we appreciate in Perenco.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Production monitoring, surveillance. Populate and keep live the production and G&G databases. Being sensible to the importance of data quality is essential.
- Define bottlenecks and propose solutions to overcome them.
- Preparation of workover/well interventions proposals: candidates screening and ranking, scope of work definition, production and economics calculations.
- Preparation of data acquisition programs (pressure surveys, cased hole logging).
- Good knowledge of the main PE software packages is a Must: Petex suite (GAP, MBAL, PROSPER) or PIPESIM.
- Knowledge on Pressure-Transient analysis is preferred: PBU interpretations, use of KAPPA softwares.
- Knowledge on cased-hole logging is preferred: PLT interpretation, resistivity behind casing to define WSO or additional perforations.
- Support to Reservoir Engineers for Field Development Studies.
- Some knowledge in reservoir engineering, drilling and petroleum economics through past experience with multidiscipline projects is preferred. Good communication with various departments is essential.
- Challenge existing designs and well operational processes in order to propose some optimisations in term of technology and practice.
- When necessary, visit the offshore platforms to attend drilling/WO/well interventions or any other optimisation jobs.
Safety Critical Tasks:
There are a number of Safety Critical Tasks that you will be made aware of and systems you will be required to competently operate.
Experience / Qualifications:
- MSc Petroleum Engineering with at least 3 years of experience / BSc Petroleum Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in oil and gas industry, preferably with operating companies.
- IT Literate and familiar with IPM software (MBAL, Prosper, GAP), well testing software (Kappa), OFM or Sahara, Microsoft Suite (strong in Excel).
- Flexibility to travel offshore if required.
