About the Opportunity – Nuclear Safety Case Engineer (Multiple Locations) Amentum is currently recruiting for Nuclear Safety Case Engineers to join our business. We have roles for all levels of experience as we are seeing an unprecedented growth in nuclear safety case opportunities through the demand for our services growing in our existing markets and winning further significant safety case programmes of work. Our offices are located in Dorchester, Gloucester, Knutsford, London, Newcastle and Warrington, with a significant number of other Amentum offices around the UK that could also be used as a base location as required. We operate flexible and hybrid working arrangements and these roles can either be full time or part time. Our Safety Case Engineers are working collaboratively across diverse markets in the civil nuclear and defence sectors on both national and international projects. Our work spans the full nuclear lifecycle, including next-generation systems, emerging reactor technologies and supporting the operation of existing nuclear facilities and systems. This role will allow you to work in a growing market with an organisation that supports a diverse and extensive client base, aiding your personal and professional career goals. We are interested in hearing from you if you have experience in one of the following safety case areas: Safety Case production and management. Hazard and Risk identification and assessment studies, e.g. FMEA, HAZOP, ALARP. Internal and External Hazard assessments. Deterministic and Probabilistic Safety Assessments (PSA). Nuclear Licensing and Authorisations. Integrating safety principles into engineering designs. Structural Integrity design/assessment of nuclear related structures and components. We would also be keen to hear from you if you are interested in transferring into this discipline as part of your aspirations to support this capability in the nuclear industry. Amentum will assist your transition through formal training and mentoring support. Key Responsibilities: Delivering technical work to support the demonstration that a facility or system can be operated safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Liaising with clients to understand their challenges and developing solutions. Representing the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators and other third parties. Helping to maintain the technical capability/knowledge of the community and mentoring junior team members (as appropriate). Minimum Requirements: A degree (or equivalent demonstrable experience) in a STEM discipline. Experience of executing project tasks against relevant standards and best practices. Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders. Chartered Member of a professional institute (or equivalent demonstrable experience) or working towards either Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
