Overview

To work effectively to meet company delivery expectations whilst ensuring safety, cost and quality goals are also met.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure welding compliance in respect of identity, traceability, H&S and quality requirements
  • Ensure operating procedures are followed to ensure weld quality is maintained.
  • To produce fabrications in accordance with manufacturing drawings.
  • To utilise metal cutting equipment ensuring safety standards are achieved
  • Perform pre-use checks on all welding associated plant and report faults
  • To have a close working relationship with staff to improve services to customer
  • Ensure effective shift communication
  • Any other reasonable duties as required or deemed necessary to ensure the quality of goods is met and work is carried out in a health and safe fashion.
  • Ensure corrective action is taken following internal audit reports on any plant or equipment within the department

Qualifications/Experience

  • Time served apprenticeship
  • Pulse TIG Weld Overlay and Sub-Arc Welding advantageous
  • Solid understanding of welding equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical plans and drawings
  • Good communication skills
