Support the production requirements within the service, repair and new manufacture environment, in particular the painting and blasting operations. To work effectively to meet company delivery expectations whilst ensuring safety, cost and quality goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance with internal and external coating procedures to ensure effective coating is applied
• Preparation of surfaces for painting, including cleaning, blasting and priming
• Record and monitor all environmental aspects of the process prior to, during and subsequent to, all coating operations
• Application of various epoxy coatings using airless guns, rollers and brushes.
• Measure and capture dry film thicknesses, environmental aspects, consumable batch numbers and record on coating certificates
• Ensure shop floor documentation is complete and accurate and available for third party review
• Perform final coating inspection of completed assemblies, prior to leaving the coating facility
• Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
• Take a proactive approach to process improvement
• To have a close working relationship with all staff members to improve services and communication to customers
• Any other reasonable duties as required or deemed necessary to ensure the quality of goods is met and work is carried out in a safe manner

Mechanical Support:

• Some minor assembly work off mechanical products
• Be flexible in your approach and assist the mechanical team were required
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance of paint and blast equipment

Qualifications/Experience:

• Experience within a paint and blast environment
• Working within heavy engineering environment is essential
• Use off overhead cranes is beneficial but not essential as training will be given
• Use off forklift trucks would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given
• Knowledge of inspection/coating principles, concepts, theories and practices
• Understanding of ISO9001/14001 and OHSAS18001 advantageous
• Working Knowledge of NACE and NORSOK coating specifications
• Communication and Teamwork
• Experience with mechanical assembly work would be beneficial
• Knowledge off Xylan and PTFE coatings would be beneficial but essential
