Job Purpose

  • To survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, support, assemble and test various STATS tools/services and equipment in the workshop and the field as well as operating various tools in a safe manner while ensuring that a quality product and service is provided to the client at all times.
  • Act as a main point of contact for clients while offshore/at client locations.

Main Responsibilities

Workshop Role

  • To survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, assemble and test tools/equipment to standards/procedures set out by STATS and STATS customers/clients.
  • FAT involvement to create the link between workshop and field.
  • Work to and maintain a high standard of quality to the STATS products and services.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to protect all colleagues, visitors and clients on site.
  • To carry out the movement of material/equipment within the shop area.
  • To ensure that all defect to material, components or equipment is reported to the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are to the latest revisions, prior to work commencing.
  • Aid in the proposal and introduction of new assembly and testing techniques to improve productivity or safety.
  • To liaise with the Workshop Supervisor on any issues arising.
  • To report any environmental and health and safety issues that arise.
  • To work within STATS standards and company procedures at all times.
  • Involved in environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Any other duties required by the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Aid in the creation of risk assessments as and when required.
  • Liaison with the Workshop Supervisor and Field and Workshop Manager on any material, customer/project issues.
  • Help in the proposal and introduction of new safety equipment.
  • To maintain material certification and traceability for all material used.
  • Aid PE’s and Workshop Supervisor in the selection of tooling and capital equipment.

Field Role

  • To travel to onshore/offshore sites both in the UK and overseas to support STATS operational requirements when required
  • Work to and maintain a high standard of quality to the STATS products and services.
  • To ensure that all defect to material, components or equipment is reported to the Field and Workshop Manager.
  • Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are to the latest revisions, prior to work commencing.
  • Pro-active in the proposal and introduction of new assembly and testing techniques to improve productivity or safety.
  • To liaise with the Field & Workshop Manager on any issues arising.
  • Be involved in environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Aid in the creation of risk assessments as and when required.
  • Liaison with the Field Technician Level II & III or the Project Engineer on any material, client/project issues.
  • Help in the proposal and introduction of new safety equipment.
  • To ensure that all gauge/inspection equipment is correct and current prior to use.
  • Any other duties required by the Field & Workshop Manager, and/or Workshop Supervisor if at STATS premises.
  • To support other departments as and when required.

Individual Quality And Safety Responsibilities

  • To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
  • Ensure all accidents / incidents / near misses / hazards are immediately reported and relevant paper work is completed.

Experience/ Competence/ Skills/ Knowledge

  • Competent level of understanding in: engineering drawings, engineering terminologies and assembly and pressure testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/specifications etc.
  • The use of assembly and test equipment and test tools in a safe manner.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment.
  • Full understanding of various methods of assembly and testing.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Skill in planning methods of assembly and testing.
  • As part of a team, work to a high standard with client lead times being the delivery driver.
  • At all times to represent the company in a professional and effective manner.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical trade with good all round understanding of assembly and pressure testing techniques.
  • All round experience of oilfield processes and safety controls.

Personal Qualities

  • Ability to work as part of a small, focused team.
  • Flexibility and shift working on occasions required.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Ability to use lifting equipment effectively.
  • Understanding of environment and health and safety.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
