Role description: With AMP8 in mind, we are actively recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our MEICA team. You\’ll join a dedicated team of professionals where you\’ll contribute and apply your skills to stimulating projects in the clean water & wastewater sector, both regionally and across the UK. The role itself will sit within our Resilience Global Business Area. Role accountabilities: Ability to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production and checking complex electrical detailed designs including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings. Supporting and/or leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations, and ancillary assets. Ensuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions. Technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, in a Design Lead capacity where assigned, using the latest digital design techniques. Identify and develop innovative and optimized technical solutions based on client needs and drivers. Lead and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA). Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial, and progress matters. Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards and objectives. Mentoring and performance development responsibility for assigned staff. Capturing key project and technical knowledge, including innovations. Promote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Electrical Engineering or other directly related degree. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as IET, InstMC, or CIWEM or working towards and nearing application. Significant experience and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects preferably related to the water and wastewater industry. Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design. Technical/Discipline Team leader with collaborative behaviors. Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience.
