Oikos Storage Limited are recruiting for the role of Terminal (Process) Operator. Our Terminal (Process) Operators are part of our Operations team and will be placed on our shift system. The role is responsible for operating and maintaining our fuel terminal facilities, ensuring safe and efficient loading, unloading, and storage of petroleum products.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor terminal equipment including pumps, valves, and meters
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of tankers and vessels
- Inspect and maintain the terminal equipment to ensure operational efficiency
- Record data related to the transfer of products, including quantities, temperature, and pressure
- Conduct regular safety checks to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues and report any major issues to the supervisor
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and participate in environmental initiatives
- Respond to emergencies and spills according to the company’s safety procedures
- Maintain accurate records of all operations and reports
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Experience within bulk liquid storage industry
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental protocols, equipment, and hazardous materials handling
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot terminal equipment and computer-based control systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Must pass pre-employment background check and medical screening
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods of time
- Working at Height - Comfortable climbing tanks with heights of 20 metres
Desirable
- High School Diploma or equivalent, technical or vocational training in a related field preferred
- Previous experience in terminal operations, logistics, or related fields is preferred
