Summary
Are you ambitious, talented and would be interested in an exciting opportunity as Project Logistics Specialist EMEA? OIA Global have an exciting opening within the Project Logistics department based in the UK, Spain or Poland or where the Project Logistics Specialist will work closely with all other Project Logistics teams in other regions. The primary focus will be on winning spot quotes to generate GP for OIA and ensure operation execution is done well to continue to build trust with customers internally and externally so we can be successful in Project Logistics in EMEA. They work closely with Project Logistics Teams in EMEA and sister regions, Branch Operations in EMEA, EMEA Sales across all Sales Channels and Regional Finance members to continue growing our Project Logistics business in the EMEA Region.
About the Role
The Project Logistics Specialist will be responsible for various key responsibilities aimed at increasing GP line contribution and supporting the growth of the Project Logistics business in the EMEA Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Increase GP line contribution from Project Logistics Team through: Heavy Haulage, Specialized Containers and General Freight
- Increase Global GP achieved from EMEA Project Logistics Team support.
- Be a subject-matter expert in Project Logistics and Support Sales Team on project logistics solution design for customers.
- Work with Branch Managers, Business Development and Key Account Managers to grow our Project Logistics Product in the EMEA Region.
- Work with our Network Development Team to select and continuously review Project Logistics Agents globally that can support OIA’s success in the EMEA region.
- Develop new relationships through technical expertise with prospective customers as well as maintain relationships with existing customers with requirements involving project logistics.
- Support sourcing of logistics solutions for project logistics RFQ’s received from OIA existing and targeted customers.
- Cultivate a culture of safety at work through compliance and process ownership when handling project cargo.
- Seek, Bid and Win new opportunities in project logistics throughout the EMEA Region consisting of over-sized and heavy lift shipments both to project sites and manufacturing sites.
- Own the response personally of project logistics request for quotations from current and prospective customers assigned to you by Senior Members of Team.
- Ensure that Projects secured are executed in compliance with company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure hand-over of projects secured by the Project Logistics Team and executed by Branch Operations is done to achieve smooth operations at time of shipments.
- Ensure quotes done by Project Logistics Team are recorded in Cargowise One.
- Ensure shipments are correctly recorded as Project Cargo in Cargowise One.
- Develop and sustain relationship with new & existing vendors by sourcing, initiating, and attending regular meetings with trucking companies, port agents, shipping lines, carriers, marine surveyors.
- Attend customer visits as required by the Sales Team to maintain and develop relationship with designated accounts through technical ability.
- Supervise operational activities relating to Special Projects and / or other customer bookings / orders to ensure all requirements are fulfilled.
- Perform negotiation on BIDs & Project inquiries with vendors, customers, and agents for our Energy vertical business.
- Ensuring project operations are being executed in accordance with the company processes and procedures as set by Line Manager.
- Operate project and general cargo shipments as required by our customers.
- Support quotation requests in a timely manner.
- Develop and sustain relationship with new & existing vendors by sourcing, initiating, and attending regular meetings with trucking companies, port agents, shipping lines, carriers, marine surveyors.
What we need from you:
- Good technical expertise / experience on project cargo (quoting, planning and execution) with a special focus on road freight and ocean freight (specialized containers and breakbulk).
- Excellent and proactive communication & negotiation skills (in general air/ocean operations, with related project cargo forwarding experience).
- Innovative and constantly seeking improvement on current processes.
- Able to work to deadlines and with agility and high attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skillset.
- Take ownership and initiatives at work, ambitious, self-motivated, and result-oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customer and build rapport.
