We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Credit Controller Manager to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic environment and contribute meaningfully to our team.
Overview
The Credit Controller Manager will handle day-to-day financial transactions for US, EMEA and Global customers within the OIA Shared Service Centre. Working with a team of credit controllers to deliver and manage comprehensive, effective, high quality credit control and cash flow support to ensure the company receives payments correctly and on time.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage customer accounts
- Produce debtor statements and follow up with relevant customers
- Build and maintain relationships with customers
- Maintain cash flow spreadsheet
- Maintain and communicate debtors report as required
- Compile overdue invoice reports and communicate as necessary
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
- Assist in increasing company cash flow and profitability through timely and efficient management of the receivable target set
- Process incoming credit card payments
- Check debtors credit records and advise accordingly
- Check customer's credit ratings with banks
- Negotiate repayment plans with debtors as needed
- Set up and maintain customer files
- Trace missing debtors, liaising with solicitors, bailiffs, and debt counsellors where necessary
- Deal with internal escalations from team about payments and ensure customers pay on time
- Ensure existing accounts receivable processes are documented according to OIA policies
- Assess existing accounts receivable processes and suggest improvements where relevant
Banking
- Overview of processing Customer payments
- Reconcile all bank accounts periodically, as directed
- Book all cheques on same day as received and pay cheques into bank account daily
- Seek clarification from clients when payments are unclear
People Management
- Be responsible for the overall performance of the Team
- Coach, develop and motivate the team to complete objectives and tasks, ensuring they have the knowledge to complete their duties
- Formally manage the Team, e.g. performance appraisals, inductions, disciplinary matters
- Ensure Team adheres to OIA policies and SOPs
- Promote a learning and development culture
What we need from you
- Previous experience working in a corporate accounts receivable
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Educated to degree level
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office package
- Experience working near or within the Freight Forwarding industry, desirable
- Good understanding of Credit Legislation & Policy
