Security Research Engineer
Location: Bristol / Hybrid

The Role
As a Security Research Engineer, you will contribute to the research, design, and development of next-generation security solutions.
You will be involved in:
- Researching and developing new approaches to improve system security and resilience
- Designing security concepts, architectures, and technical solutions
- Building prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations to explore new ideas
- Analysing complex systems to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement
- Working across multiple areas of technology including software, hardware, and infrastructure
- Producing technical documentation, research findings, and engineering proposals
What Weโre Looking For
We are looking for an engineer with a strong technical background and an interest in solving complex security challenges.
You will ideally have experience in:
- Security research (this is a research role)
- Understanding of low-level systems and computer architecture
- Applying security principles to real-world engineering challenges
- Analysing technical problems and communicating solutions clearly
- Working independently while collaborating with highly skilled engineers
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Systems security
- Hardware security concepts
- Operating system internals
- Virtualisation technologies
- Distributed computing environments
- Threat modelling and security analysis
- Research or prototyping within a technical environment
