Security Research Engineer

Location: Bristol / Hybrid

The Role

As a Security Research Engineer, you will contribute to the research, design, and development of next-generation security solutions.

You will be involved in:

  • Researching and developing new approaches to improve system security and resilience
  • Designing security concepts, architectures, and technical solutions
  • Building prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations to explore new ideas
  • Analysing complex systems to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement
  • Working across multiple areas of technology including software, hardware, and infrastructure
  • Producing technical documentation, research findings, and engineering proposals

What Weโ€™re Looking For

We are looking for an engineer with a strong technical background and an interest in solving complex security challenges.

You will ideally have experience in:

  • Security research (this is a research role)
  • Understanding of low-level systems and computer architecture
  • Applying security principles to real-world engineering challenges
  • Analysing technical problems and communicating solutions clearly
  • Working independently while collaborating with highly skilled engineers

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Hardware security concepts
  • Operating system internals

  • Distributed computing environments
