We are working with a specialist engineering business that is looking to add talented Graduate Hardware Engineers to its growing technical team. This is a particularly good opportunity for an engineering graduate who doesn't want to spend their career focused on one narrow area of electronics. The role provides exposure to FPGA development, PCB design, embedded software and high-speed electronics, with the opportunity to work across both hardware and software.
What you'll be doing
- Implementing signal, image and data processing algorithms
- PCB design and layout
- Working with FPGAs, SoCs and high-speed interfaces
- Schematic capture
- Supporting PCB fabrication and assembly
- Bringing prototype PCBs into operation
- Developing test firmware and software
What we're looking for
- A 1st or 2:1 degree or PhD in a numerate/technical discipline
- Strong academic performance, particularly in Maths and Physics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A self-motivated and independent approach
- Knowledge or project experience in at least one of: PCB design and layout, Embedded C/C++
You don't need experience across all three areas. The key is strong technical fundamentals and the ability to learn.
