Lead Frontend Engineer – Climate Tech – London / CambridgeTake ownership of front-end engineering at a growing climate‐tech company shaping the future of energy planning. You\’ll lead the move from a monolithic UI to a modern micro‐frontend architecture – while building a high‐quality engineering culture from the ground up.

This role is hands‐on. You\’ll work directly with the CTO, steer architectural decisions, and mentor a growing team. If you enjoy solving complex front‐end challenges, scaling modern React systems, and building high‐performance data and geospatial visualisations, this is an opportunity to lead with impact.

What you\’ll lead

The migration to a micro‐frontend architecture

The creation of a reusable design system + component library

High‐performance geospatial visualisation (DeckGL, WebGL)

Front‐end standards: TypeScript excellence, testing, CI/CD, performance

Mentoring front‐end engineers + shaping team culture

What you bring

Expert React + TypeScript (4+ years), 2+ years leading engineers

Strong architecture background – ideally micro‐frontends

Experience with complex data visualisation or geospatial tools (DeckGL/Mapbox)

Knowledge of modern bundlers (Vite, Webpack, esbuild)

Focus on performance, modularity, and scalable front‐end systems

Nice to have

Micro‐frontend patterns (Module Federation, single‐spa)

D3/Plotly/Recharts, AWS, testing frameworks
