Lead Front-End Software Engineer – ClimateTech Start-Up

Lead Front-End Software Engineer required to join a fast-growing ClimateTech start-up who are transforming how cities and utilities manage energy and infrastructure. You will shape the front-end strategy, lead a talented team, and guide a shift from a monolithic codebase to a modular, high-performance architecture. You’ll build reusable components, optimise real-time data visualisations, and set engineering standards that drive quality and innovation across the platform.

What you’ll do:

• Lead architectural improvements and front-end migrations
• Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team
• Design and implement complex, real-time dashboards and visualizations
• Establish best practices, testing standards, and robust CI/CD workflows

About You:

• 4+ years in front-end development, including team leadership
• Expert in React and TypeScript, with strong state management skills
• Experience with high-performance, data-intensive UI and geospatial visualization
• Proven ability to drive architectural change and implement scalable processes
• Micro-frontend experience
• WebGL, DeckGL, or other advanced visualization tools
• Open-source contributions or technical leadership in complex systems
