Profile Criteria:
- Ideally Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, Chartered Accountant) or Finalist level with min. 4+ years relevant work experience
- Financial services or investment management sector experience is desirable
- Bachelor\’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Advanced Excel and confident PowerPoint skills a bonus
- Experience with SAP S/4Hana and SAP Group Reporting is highly desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with IFRS (UK and German GAAP desirable)
- Proficiency in German is desirable (but not essential)
- A strong ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities and meet challenging deadlines
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities / Tasks:
The successful candidate will be responsible for one or more of the following activities alongside the team:
Financial reporting and operations:
• Support month-end close of key processes for all entities and branches within the European business, which includes UK, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, and the Isle of Man
• Liaise with external third-party providers to prepare local reporting and tax filings
• Assist with yearly audit requests
• Support with cash management and billing process
• Support balance sheet reconciliations and investigating unreconciled items in a timely manner
Management reporting and financial analysis
• This includes but is not limited to the following:
• Assist in analysing month over month movements and investigating variances
• Goodwill and intangible assets impairment
• Stress-test analysis and multi-year forecast of balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statement
• Regulatory capital & liquidity forecast
• Multi-currency cash forecast
• Other ad-hoc analysis as required by senior management and other stakeholders
• Participate in creating an efficient profit and cost centre hierarchy that facilitates the provision of insightful analyses to functional leaders
Other responsibilities
• Budgeting and forecasting: Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for the EMEA and Asia distribution teams
• Process improvements: Drive continuous improvements in the month-end close process and bolster productivity through automation of reports and processes. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement change
