We are on the hunt for a Senior Environmental Consultant who is ready to roll up their sleeves, lead impactful projects, and support environmental insurance claims and consultancy services across the UK. About the Role:
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering technically sound, commercially aware consultancy services related to contaminated land. You will manage environmental projects from initial investigation through to remediation and closure, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This is a home-based role with regular travel to sites and offices, supported by mentoring from a Principal Consultant and/or Regional Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental insurance claim projects, ensuring technical and financial performance.
- Conduct site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation verification.
- Liaise confidently with clients, contractors, regulators, and homeowners.
- Develop and update Conceptual Site Models and deliver PRA and GQRA reports.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including method statements and risk assessments.
- Schedule and interpret soil, groundwater, and gas monitoring data.
- Support the implementation and verification of environmental remediation strategies.
- Contribute to business development activities and maintain strong client relationships.
- Deliver high-quality, commercially focused technical reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Earth Sciences, Geo-Environmental or related discipline (MSc advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in contaminated land investigation and remediation.
- Strong working knowledge of CLR11, BS10175, BS5930, and environmental legislation.
- Experience with hydrocarbon contamination and remediation techniques.
- Skilled in soil and rock logging and development of CSMs.
- Proficient in field data collection, chemical analysis interpretation, and report writing.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and teamworking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; GIS experience beneficial.
