The Team at O\’Hanlon & Farrell Contracts Ltd have promoted the company to one of Northern Ireland\’s long established Electrical Contractors with over 40 years of experience within numerous sectors, including the Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Construction sectors throughout Ireland & UK.
We have an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR in a permanent, full‑time position based in Newry. The role involves managing all aspects of the tendering process and focusing on growing the company’s client base, playing a key role within the team with potential career progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit compliant tenders, using our estimating templates/software within client-required deadlines. Resolve any queries with the aim of securing the work.
- Participate in securing profitable contracts & interface effectively with clients from initial contact/enquiry to quotation and winning the order.
- Work as a team to proactively maintain and develop a strong network of contacts within the target commercial customer base and promote the company’s capability with them to secure appropriate opportunities.
- Handover secured projects effectively to the Contracts team (Contract Managers / Procurement etc) with detailed budget and target GP margins.
What You’ll Need (Experience)
- At least 5 years experience as Electrical Estimator/QS within the construction environment.
- A good level of secondary education demonstrating high levels of literacy and numeracy.
- Technical knowledge of electrical installations ranging from domestic to large commercial/industrial.
- Ability to understand and analyse electrical drawings to establish the correct cost for various electrical projects.
- Previous involvement in establishing and developing effective long-term customer relationships.
- Varied project background with a clear track record of converting tender submissions to sales.
- Commercial awareness & deadline driven.
- Strong attention to detail & presentation.
- Strong IT skills.
