Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work across local authority and private sector clients, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a permanent basis, based at our Newry Head Office. The role will involve travel to project sites across County Louth and North County Dublin, with excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression. The Role Working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider project team, you will support the commercial management of allocated projects from tender through to completion and final account. The role will provide broad experience across estimating, procurement, measurement, valuations, cost control and commercial reporting, while developing your skills and taking increasing responsibility for project delivery. Key Responsibilities Support the commercial management of allocated projects from tender through to completion and final account Undertake measurements, valuations, take-offs and pricing of works and variations Assist with subcontractor procurement, including tendering, quotation analysis and subcontract orders Assess subcontractor payment applications and assist with valuations and cost reporting Monitor project costs and value, identifying potential commercial risks and opportunities Assist with the preparation and agreement of variations and final accounts Attend project and commercial meetings and undertake regular site visits as required Maintain accurate commercial records and provide cost information and reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor Director Assist with tender preparation and estimating, ensuring accurate and timely submissions Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams to support effective project delivery Raise commercial issues, risks and opportunities with the Senior Quantity Surveyor Work closely with Operational and Finance teams to support the commercial performance of projects. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will: Hold a relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline Have previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within a main contractor environment Demonstrate good commercial awareness, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Have excellent communication and negotiation skills Be organised, self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines Have strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word Be willing to learn, take responsibility and develop within a growing commercial team Hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel to project sites as required. Desirable Experience Experience with new-build, domestic or apartment construction projects Exposure to both estimating and post-contract commercial management Experience working on projects in the Republic of Ireland Exposure to Blue Form contracts would be advantageous but is not essential.
