The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for an Environmental Project Engineer to work within advanced mechanical and climatic facilities using innovative analytical tools and simulation techniques across the product lifecycle. The role involves close collaboration with Systems Engineering, Architecture, Design and Proving teams to:
- Generate environmental requirements
- Support robust product design development
- Define and manage cost-effective proving strategies
- Deliver environmental test programmes
You’ll contribute across all stages of the product lifecycle including:
- Concept development
- Design support
- Qualification and certification
- In-service support
Areas of expertise include:
- Environmental requirement management
- Proving methodologies
- Certification
- Project management
- Climatic, vibration, shock and fatigue testing
You’ll also act as a technical interface with customers, supporting the planning, delivery and monitoring of engineering work packages to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Key Challenges
- Managing multiple priorities across projects
- Working with customers and senior engineering stakeholders
- Delivering technically complex projects to schedule and budget
- Supporting evolving engineering strategies and emerging technologies
What We’re Looking For
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience
- Knowledge of environmental engineering within defence or similar industries
- Understanding of vibration, shock, temperature and humidity environments
- Familiarity with environmental testing processes and instrumentation
- Knowledge of standards such as DEF STAN 00-035, AECTP 300/400 and MIL-STD-810
