A Cardiff-based utilities organisation is seeking an experienced SHE Manager to support and strengthen its Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) function on an initial 6-month contract.
The role will focus on reviewing and improving existing SHE processes, ensuring the organisation is fully prepared for upcoming audits and establishing clear training and structural recommendations for the future. This position operates on a hybrid work pattern, with three days per week in the Cardiff office and two days visiting operational sites across South-West England.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance & Systems Review
- Conduct a gap analysis of the Integrated Management System (IMS) relating to Safety, Health and Environment.
- Prepare the organisation for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 audits.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement practical compliance solutions.
- Risk Management
- Carry out a comprehensive review of all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Ensure documentation meets regulatory and operational requirements.
- Training & Development
- Develop proposals for Health & Safety induction training, including manual handling.
- Provide recommendations for ongoing Health & Safety training programmes for employees across the organisation.
- Strategic Planning
- Assess the organisation’s long-term SHE requirements.
- Provide a recommendation for the future structure and requirements of the SHE role following the initial 6-month period.
- Competitive day rate of £400–£450+ (DOE)
