Position Summary:

The EHS & Facilities Manager will be responsible for leading and continuously improving all Environmental, Health, Safety, Security (EHSS), compliance, and facilities management activities across multiple UK sites. This role will ensure regulatory compliance, drive operational excellence, and embed a strong safety culture across the business, while overseeing facilities management and supporting future business growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS):
    • Develop and implement EHSS strategies aligned with business objectives and legal requirements.
    • Create, maintain, and improve EHSS policies, procedures, and management systems.
    • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, safety, and security legislation.
    • Identify business risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
    • Lead EHSS initiatives across multiple UK locations, driving consistency and continuous improvement.
    • Support EHSS due diligence activities for future acquisitions and business expansion.
    • Design and deliver EHSS training programmes across the organisation.
    • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, producing reports for senior leadership.
    • Support regulatory audits, inspections, and statutory compliance activities.
    • Work collaboratively with Operations, Manufacturing, HR, and Senior Leadership to promote best practice.
    • Develop positive relationships with external regulators and key stakeholders.
    • Champion a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.
  • Facilities & Maintenance:
    • Lead the facilities and maintenance function across the UK operations.
    • Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities.
    • Ensure sites remain compliant, safe, and operationally efficient.
    • Support infrastructure improvements and capital projects.
    • Manage contractors and external service providers.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong understanding of EHSS legislation and compliance.
  • Experience developing and implementing EHSS programmes within manufacturing.
  • Multi-site manufacturing experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent IT and reporting capabilities.

Experience Required:

  • 7-10 years' experience in an EHS/EHSS leadership role within manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of implementing EHSS strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting business growth, acquisitions, or site expansion projects.
  • Experience managing facilities and maintenance operations.
