About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to join a leading construction organisation within their central region. This is a permanent, full-time role offering exposure to a wide range of projects and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on health, safety, and employee wellbeing.
You will work closely with the Group HSE Director and Regional Directors as part of a small, high-performing HSE team. This position requires regular site visits, national travel, and occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities

Provide health, safety, and wellbeing support across multiple projects and regional operations.

Liaise with quality, environmental, HR, insurance, plant and lifting services teams.

Contribute to prequalification, bidding, and planning processes.

Assist in the preparation of risk assessments, traffic management plans, and HSE plans.

Carry out site inspections, compliance audits, and accident/incident investigations.

Deliver internal HSE training, toolbox talks, and respirator face-fit testing.

Conduct environmental impact assessments, noise surveys, and light assessments.

Support the development and review of policies, procedures, and site documentation.

Ensure compliance with OHSAS 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 accredited management systems.

Produce reports for management meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.

Engage with industry and local safety groups to promote best practice.
Key Skills & Experience
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging at all levels.

Solid background in construction and building projects (essential).
-
Experience in a multi-site, multi-discipline environment (desirable).

Understanding of environmental and waste management issues.
-
Qualified to or working towards NVQ Level 6 in HSE, or NEBOSH Diploma/Certificate with IOSH Chartered status.

CSCS Health & Safety Manager card holder.
-
Full driving licence.

Flexibility, energy, and enthusiasm, with the ability to work independently.
Please note: DBS and BPSS checks will be required.
