Regional SHE Manager Main Purpose of the Role
The Regional SHE Advisor provides assurance and support in the implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) standards across operations and projects.
The role helps ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements and critical risk controls.
Through site inspections, audits and proactive engagement, it promotes a positive safety culture, supports accountability and contributes to continuous improvement in safety performance and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Regional SHE Manager in delivering SHE compliance across projects.
Provide competent advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and site teams on SHE policies, procedures and legal requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SHE legislation, company systems and best practice.
Support pre-construction and project planning activities, including pre-start meetings, CDM 2015 compliance and review of key documentation.
Contribute to risk assessments and safe systems of work, ensuring effective hazard identification and risk control.
Carry out site inspections, audits and monitoring activities, recording findings and supporting timely close-out of actions.
Monitor and report SHE performance, producing accurate records, statistics and management information.
Investigate incidents, accidents and occupational ill health, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Escalate serious SHE breaches, significant concerns and regulatory matters.
Deliver training, briefings and toolbox talks to promote awareness of SHE risks and safe behaviours.
Promote SHE policies and contribute to a positive safety culture through proactive workforce engagement.
Provide specialist advice on environmental management, hazardous substances, fire safety and occupational health.
Support the development and continuous improvement of SHE systems, policies and strategies.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
Qualifications
Desirable NEBOSH Diploma, Degree or NVQ Level 6, or working towards.
Knowledge
Essential Good understanding of UK H&S legislation, CDM 2015, construction hazards and risk management principles.
Knowledge
Desirable Awareness of environmental management systems and best practice.
Experience
Essential SHE experience within construction/civil engineering.
Experience of site inspections, audits, incident investigations and supporting safe systems of work.
Experience
