Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician


Location: Luton with regional travel and occasional nationwide travel


Salary: £25,000 to £27,000 per annum, depending on experience


Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week


OH Medical is recruiting for a Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician to join a leading Occupational Health provider. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within Occupational Health while working in a varied, field-based role. You'll travel to client sites in a Mobile Medical Unit, delivering essential health surveillance services across a range of industries. This role involves regular travel and overnight stays, typically being away from home for up to three weeks out of four, with weekends spent at home. A comprehensive three-week induction programme, ongoing mentoring, and excellent support make this an ideal opportunity for candidates looking to build their experience.


Duties



  • Deliver health surveillance including audiometry, spirometry and baseline health assessments

  • Carry out biometric measurements including height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis

  • Accurately record clinical information and maintain Occupational Health records

  • Ensure all medical equipment is clean, maintained and ready for use

  • Support workplace health promotion initiatives where required

  • Gather and record accurate information to support clinical decision-making

  • Drive a Mobile Medical Unit to client sites across the region and occasionally nationwide

  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and GDPR compliance


Criteria



  • Full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months

  • Ability to travel extensively with regular overnight stays - you can be away from home for around 3 out of 4 weeks of the month, however, you will always be home on the Friday night for the weekend

  • Suitable home location to safely park a Mobile Medical Unit overnight

  • Previous experience as an OHT, or from a background such as Hospital Healthcare Assistant, Emergency Care Assistant, Ambulance Technician, Emergency Care Technician, Army Medic or similar would be beneficial

  • Sports Science graduates with experience carrying out baseline health assessments are encouraged to apply

  • Good understanding of GDPR and confidential record keeping

  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team


Salary & Benefits



  • £25,000 to £27,000 per annum depending on experience
