The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is based in Stoke-on-Trent (ST4 2BX), so we are particularly keen to hear from OHTs based within a reasonable travelling distance of Stoke who are comfortable travelling nationwide when required.
The Role
You will collect a Mercedes long-wheelbase 3.5-tonne Mobile Medical Unit from Stoke-on-Trent before travelling to client locations across the UK to deliver occupational health medicals and health surveillance. You will be responsible for carrying out:
- Safety Critical Medicals
- Audiometry
- Spirometry
- Vision Screening
- HAVS Assessments
- Drug & Alcohol Testing
- Urinalysis
- Working at Heights Medicals
- Driver Medicals
- Night Worker Medicals
- Chester Step Tests
- General health and wellbeing advice, including blood pressure guidance
Full medical appointments are allocated approximately 50 minutes per employee, allowing sufficient time to complete the required assessments.
What We’re Looking For
You will need to be an experienced Occupational Health Technician who is confident working independently and delivering a broad range of health surveillance and occupational health assessments. You must also:
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Hold current Health Surveillance Training Certificates
- Be comfortable driving a 3.5-tonne Mercedes long-wheelbase MMU
- Be able to collect the MMU from Stoke-on-Trent (ST4 2BX)
- Be happy to travel to clinic locations nationwide
- Be available for approximately 1–2 ad hoc shifts per month
What’s on Offer?
- Flexible ad hoc work – approximately 1–2 shifts per month
- Competitive hourly rate
- Mileage paid at 55p per mile (for collection and drop-off of MMU - vehicle will be fuelled for clinic travel)
- Nationwide clinic variety
- Administrative support provided
- Bespoke occupational health system, with results uploaded electronically
This could be a great opportunity for an OHT who already has other commitments and would like to add occasional, flexible clinic days to their schedule. If you’re an experienced Occupational Health Technician and would like to find out more, we’d love to hear from you.
