OH Medical is recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Physician to join a multidisciplinary Occupational Health team in Sheffield. This is a senior clinical role providing medical leadership, complex case support and specialist occupational health advice. This role would suit an experienced Occupational Physician looking for a part-time position with a strong focus on complex casework, fitness for work assessments and clinical governance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Undertaking pre-employment medical assessments for applicants with complex or multiple health conditions
- Conducting medical assessments for pension scheme eligibility and ill health retirement cases
- Assessing fitness for specialist and safety critical roles
- Providing medical advice on complex case management and attendance management cases
- Advising on fitness for work and workplace adjustments
- Supporting health surveillance programmes and advising on RIDDOR reportable conditions
- Providing specialist advice on blood borne viruses, environmental exposures and infectious diseases
- Supporting clinical governance, policy development and safe working practices
- Acting as authorising physician for occupational health policies and procedures
- Supporting and advising the wider Occupational Health clinical team
This is a key advisory role where you will act as the escalation point for complex medical cases and provide clinical leadership within the Occupational Health service.
About you:
- Member or Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (UK or Ireland)
- GMC registered with a Licence to Practise
- Extensive experience working as an Accredited Specialist or Consultant in Occupational Medicine
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Strong experience in complex case management and medical assessments
- Experience supporting clinical governance and policy development
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Experience working within a safety critical environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
Working Pattern: This is a part-time role working 15 hours per week based on site in Sheffield.
