Safety Risk & Policy LeaderSummary Safety Risk & Policy Leader Location: Hybrid with travel across multiple UK locations including Farringdon, Horley, Horsham, Ashford, Portsmouth, Poole, Epsom, Aldershot, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Paisley, Dundee and Aberdeen. Salary: £44,400 to £58,300 depending on qualifications and experience. Job Type: Full Time | Permanent OH Medical is recruiting for an experienced Safety Risk & Policy Leader to join a leading organisation operating within a high-risk environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional with experience in policy development, compliance, assurance and operational risk management. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of health and safety policies, with an initial focus on safe driving and driver risk, while supporting wider business risk categories. You'll work closely with operational teams, providing expert guidance to improve compliance, influence safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the organisation. Duties * Develop, review and maintain health and safety policies and standards. * Lead the management of safe driving risks and other business risk categories. * Monitor compliance through audits, inspections and assurance activities. * Investigate incidents, complete root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. * Analyse safety performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. * Provide expert health and safety advice to operational and leadership teams. * Deliver guidance and training to support safe ways of working. * Collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen safety culture and regulatory compliance. Criteria * Recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent. * Experience developing or implementing health and safety policies. * Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance within operational environments. * Experience carrying out risk assessments, incident investigations and implementing control measures. * Understanding of regulations such as PUWER, LOLER, CDM, NRSWA or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge. * Experience working within gas, utilities or another high-risk industry would be advantageous. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Previous experience supporting safe driving programmes or managing driver risk would be highly beneficial.
