Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisor
Hours: 30 per week | Location: Derbyshire
Are you ready to take your occupational health career to the next level? We’re looking for a passionate Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisor to join a forward-thinking team, delivering services that go beyond compliance. This role is all about actively championing wellbeing, supporting attendance, and helping staff thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
- Case Management, both in person and remote.
- Provide guidance and support to staff, managers, and HR on sickness absence, rehabilitation, and workplace adjustments.
- Participate in case conferences, offering medical and health advice to support decision-making.
- Conduct workplace and risk assessments, recommending solutions and promoting safe working practices.
- Deliver pre-employment medical screening and health surveillance programmes.
- Run health checks and monitor staff in ‘at risk’ groups, including audiometry, vision, and vaccinations.
- Promote health and wellbeing through presentations, training, and wellness initiatives.
- Travel within the region as required to deliver services and support staff.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (NMC) with a postgraduate diploma or degree in Occupational Health (or equivalent).
- Experience providing occupational health advice to managers and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of health surveillance and fitness-for-work assessments, including venepuncture, audiometry, and spirometry.
- Experience in vaccination administration, anaphylaxis management, and basic life support.
- Proven ability to analyse medical data, make informed decisions, and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel within the region.
Desirable:
- Continuing Professional Development in occupational health.
- Case Management Certificate.
- Experience chairing meetings and consulting with staff associations.
