OH Medical is currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join a leading Occupational Health provider supporting a client site in Londonderry. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Occupational Health Advisor seeking a long-term contract with a varied clinical remit, combining case management, health surveillance and employee wellbeing support.
The Role
- Delivering a high-quality Occupational Health service, supporting employees and managers with expert advice on health, wellbeing and fitness for work.
- Managing a structured caseload whilst delivering health surveillance and supporting workplace health initiatives.
Occupational Health Advisor Responsibilities
- Conducting fitness for work assessments and providing workplace adjustment recommendations.
- Managing occupational health case management referrals, including sickness absence and return-to-work assessments.
- Handling approximately 8 case management appointments per day, with 45-minute appointment slots.
- Delivering health surveillance programmes, including audiometry and spirometry.
- Providing expert Occupational Health advice to employees, managers and HR teams.
- Supporting workplace wellbeing and health promotion initiatives.
- Advising on occupational health risks and workplace health concerns.
- Producing clear, professional and evidence-based Occupational Health reports.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential Occupational Health records in line with GDPR requirements.
- Liaising with HR teams, managers and external healthcare professionals to support positive employee outcomes.
Occupational Health Advisor Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Health Advisor.
- Occupational Health qualification (Diploma, Degree or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong case management experience.
- Experience conducting health surveillance, including audiometry and spirometry.
- Good understanding of Occupational Health legislation, best practice and clinical governance.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload independently.
- Confident using Occupational Health and electronic health record systems.
