About the Occupational Health Advisor Role
As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will deliver a full remit of occupational health services including case management, health surveillance, and fitness to work assessments, helping organisations maintain a healthy and productive workforce. You’ll work both autonomously in a standalone onsite post and collaboratively as part of a national multidisciplinary Occupational Health team, supporting employees and managers with expert, evidence‑based advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering Occupational Health case management, including complex cases
- Conducting health surveillance and fitness for work medicals
- Carrying out clinical duties such as:
- Vaccinations
- Phlebotomy
- Health screening questionnaires
- Supporting employee wellbeing and health promotion programmes
- Providing guidance to enable safe and early return to work
- Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with UK GDPR and data protection
- Contributing to service improvement and occupational health best practice
- Supporting colleagues, training, and team development where required
Requirements
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Recognised Occupational Health qualification (degree/diploma) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in:
- Case management (including complex referrals)
- Health surveillance & medicals
- Vaccinations and phlebotomy
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience within a commercial or corporate occupational health setting (desirable)
- IT proficiency including Microsoft Office systems
- Commitment to CPD and professional development
