OH Medical is working in partnership with a well‑established organisation to recruit an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support their growing operations across the East Midlands. This is a varied, hands‑on role working closely with the Group SHEQ Director and site management teams to ensure high standards of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) compliance. You’ll play a key role in shaping and embedding management systems, supporting sites with practical guidance, and promoting a positive safety culture across the business. The role is based from Head Office in Leicester, with regular travel to construction sites across the East Midlands and occasional travel to the West Midlands. Flexibility around start and finish times is essential due to site activity.
Duties
- Support site management teams through regular health and safety audits and inspections.
- Provide clear, practical SHEQ advice to site and office-based teams.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and cases of ill health, producing clear reports and recommendations.
- Prepare and present SHEQ data, reports and statistics.
- Assist with Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans and RAMS/COSHH assessments.
- Deliver engaging SHEQ training and toolbox talks.
- Support tender submissions, PQQs and subcontractor competence assessments.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across the business and supply chain.
- Liaise with clients and external bodies including HSE, Local Authorities and the Environment Agency.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SHEQ systems and procedures.
Criteria
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a construction‑based SHEQ role.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience producing RAMS and COSHH assessments.
- Confident in delivering training and presentations.
- Strong IT skills and ability to manage data and reporting.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
