Summary

OH Medical is recruiting for an experienced Lead Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join a multidisciplinary Occupational Health and Wellbeing service. This is a senior clinical opportunity combining hands-on Occupational Health case management with team leadership, mentoring and service development.

The successful candidate will provide specialist, evidence-based Occupational Health advice while supporting high standards of clinical governance and professional practice. The role covers case management, health surveillance, immunisations, pre-employment assessments and the development of Occupational Health policies and services.

Duties

  • Manage a complex Occupational Health caseload, including management referrals and fitness for work assessments

  • Provide professional clinical leadership, support and mentoring to Occupational Health team members

  • Organise and undertake health surveillance including audiometry, vision and spirometry

  • Manage vaccination clinics and administer vaccines in accordance with relevant protocols

  • Undertake pre-employment screening and Occupational Health assessments

  • Produce high-quality Occupational Health reports with clear, evidence-based recommendations

  • Support policy, protocol and service development and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships and support the wider delivery of the Wellbeing service

Criteria

  • Registered General Nurse with a current NMC PIN and evidence of ongoing CPD and NMC revalidation

  • Specialist Occupational Health qualification
  • Experience of managing teams and individuals within a clinical environment

  • Experience of health surveillance including audiometry, vision and spirometry

  • Competent in venepuncture and vaccine administration, storage and cold chain management

  • Strong experience producing complex Occupational Health reports, including sickness absence, return-to-work and pre-employment recommendations

  • Up-to-date experience completing fitness for work and pre-employment clinical assessments

  • Experience of policy, process and protocol development and mentoring junior team members
