OH Medical is recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking Occupational Health provider seeking a Trainee Occupational Health Advisor / OH Practitioner to join their growing clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse with strong immunisation and phlebotomy experience who is looking to build a long-term career within Occupational Health. Full training and support will be provided, with a structured development pathway covering health surveillance, workplace health assessments, vaccinations, case management and pre-employment screening.

The successful candidate should ideally be based around Swindon, South Oxfordshire or Cheltenham and be comfortable travelling to client sites across the region.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced Occupational Health team, you will initially focus on delivering health surveillance clinics, vaccinations and phlebotomy services at client sites while developing your Occupational Health knowledge and competencies. This is a varied peripatetic role supporting clients across sectors including manufacturing, engineering and pharmaceuticals. Typical duties will include:

  • Health surveillance including audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, skin assessments and HAVS assessments
  • Delivering workplace vaccination programmes and immunisation services
  • Phlebotomy and wellbeing screening clinics
  • Supporting employee health promotion and wellbeing initiatives
  • Maintaining accurate electronic clinical records
  • Building knowledge of workplace health risks and Occupational Health best practice
  • Developing towards Occupational Health case management and pre-placement assessments through a structured training programme

Following induction and competency sign-off, you will work independently at client sites with ongoing support from experienced Occupational Health Advisors and Clinical Leads.

About You

To be considered for this Trainee Occupational Health Advisor / OH Practitioner role, you will need:

  • An active NMC RGN registration
  • Strong immunisation and vaccination experience
  • Competent phlebotomy skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • Genuine interest in developing a career within Occupational Health

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous, but is not essential:

  • Occupational Health
  • Spirometry
