Experienced Occupational Health Advisor – Contract Opportunity in Crewe. £38.00 - £40.00 per hour (Umbrella) | Full-Time | 3-6 Month Contract.
OH Medical is recruiting on behalf of a leading Occupational Health provider for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join their team in Crewe, supporting the workforce of a leading UK car manufacturer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established Occupational Health service delivering a high-quality, on-site clinical service within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Please note: This role is only suitable for experienced Occupational Health Advisors and is not open to nurses looking to move into Occupational Health.
The Occupational Health Advisor Role
Working fully onsite, you'll provide a comprehensive Occupational Health service, supporting employees with fitness for work, health surveillance and case management. Your typical day will include:
- Up to 6 case management appointments (60-minute appointments)
- 1 pre-placement assessment (40 minutes)
- 30 minutes of protected administration time each day
You'll work autonomously while being supported by an experienced Occupational Health team, delivering a proactive service that helps employees remain healthy, safe and productive at work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver management referrals and case management appointments
- Undertake fitness for work assessments and provide evidence-based recommendations
- Support rehabilitation plans and return-to-work programmes
- Carry out health surveillance including:
- HAVS
- Audiometry
- Spirometry
- Complete pre-placement assessments
- Advise managers on workplace adjustments and occupational health matters
- Promote employee health and wellbeing initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with GDPR, NMC standards and best practice
- Build strong relationships with managers, HR teams and other healthcare professionals
What We're Looking For
- Current NMC Nurse Registration
- Proven experience working as an Occupational Health Advisor (essential)
- An Occupational Health qualification (Diploma, Degree or equivalent)
- Competency in HAVS, Audiometry and Spirometry
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health legislation and best practice
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- The confidence to manage your own caseload and work independently
