OH Medical is currently recruiting for a Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician to join a leading Occupational Health provider delivering workplace health services across a wide range of industries. This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Technician looking for a varied and rewarding role with extensive travel, hands-on health surveillance experience, and excellent long-term career development.
The successful Occupational Health Technician will travel across the Chelmsford area and wider UK using a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to deliver workplace health screening and Occupational Health services directly on client sites. Whether you already have Occupational Health Technician experience or come from a healthcare, emergency services, military medic or sports science background, this role offers excellent training and support to develop your Occupational Health career.
The Role - Occupational Health Technician
As a Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician, you will deliver health surveillance and wellbeing screening services across multiple client sites, supporting employees in maintaining safe and healthy working environments. Duties will include:
- Health surveillance, including audiometry and spirometry
- Baseline measurements, including height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis
- Accurate recording of Occupational Health data and medical records
- Supporting Occupational Health Nurses and Physicians with clinical information
- Maintaining and checking Occupational Health equipment
- Delivering workplace wellbeing and health promotion initiatives
- Travelling nationwide using a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)
- Overnight stays throughout the working week
Occupational Health Technician Requirements
To be considered for this Occupational Health Technician role, you may have experience as:
- Occupational Health Technician
- Hospital Healthcare Assistant
- Emergency Care Assistant (ECA)
- Ambulance Technician
- Emergency Care Technician (ECT)
- Army Medic or Military Medic
- Sports Science Graduate
You will also require:
- A full UK manual driving licence held for at least 12 months
- Ability to travel and stay away during the week - (overnight stays up to 3 weeks out of 4 per month)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good understanding of GDPR and confidential medical information
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Training & Support
Full training and induction will be provided through a structured 3-week training programme alongside ongoing mentoring and clinical support. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within Occupational Health with a highly supportive and established team.
Travel & Accommodation
This Occupational Health Technician role involves regular travel and overnight stays across the UK. To support work-life balance, you will receive:
- Diary visibility up to 6 weeks in advance

You must be able to park a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) safely at or near your home address overnight.
