OH Medical is currently recruiting for a Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician to join a leading Occupational Health provider delivering workplace health and wellbeing services across multiple industries. The successful Occupational Health Technician will travel around the Cambridge area to client sites including occasional nationwide travel across the UK, operating a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) and delivering health surveillance and workplace wellbeing services directly on‑site.
The Role - Occupational Health Technician
As a Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician, you will support the delivery of Occupational Health services across a range of client locations throughout the UK. The role will include:
- Health surveillance including audiometry and spirometry
- Baseline health screening including blood pressure, height, weight and urinalysis
- Recording and maintaining accurate Occupational Health records
- Supporting Occupational Health Nurses and Physicians with clinical data collection
- Equipment checks, maintenance and calibration support
- Delivering health promotion and wellbeing initiatives
- Driving and operating a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)
- Frequent travel and overnight stays during the working week
This Occupational Health Technician role offers a great mix of independence, travel and clinical exposure within a supportive Occupational Health team.
Occupational Health Technician Requirements
Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience as:
- Occupational Health Technician
- Hospital Healthcare Assistant (HCA)
- Emergency Care Assistant (ECA)
- Ambulance Technician
- Emergency Care Technician (ECT)
- Army Medic or Military Medic
- Healthcare Assistant
- Sports Science Graduate
To be considered, you will also need:
- A full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months
- Confidence travelling nationwide and staying away during the week
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A professional and approachable manner
- Good understanding of GDPR and confidential medical records
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Training & Development
Full training and ongoing support will be provided through a structured 3‑week induction and training programme.
Travel & Accommodation
This is a peripatetic Occupational Health Technician role involving extensive travel and regular overnight stays. To support work‑life balance, you will receive:
- Diary visibility up to 6 weeks in advance
- Weekly subsistence reimbursement for overnight stays
- Access to Premier Inn booking facilities
- Fuel card provided
- Company vehicle once available
You must be able to safely park a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) at or near your home address overnight.

£25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience
