OH Medical is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Health Advisor to join an in-house Occupational Health service in Rosyth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an OHA looking to step up into a leadership-focused position, managing a small team while delivering a high-quality, proactive Occupational Health service.
You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, support less experienced team members, and work closely with the OH Manager to ensure the service is clinically robust, efficient, and aligned with best practice.
Duties:
- Manage the daily operations of the Occupational Health service.
- Carry out health surveillance including audiometry, spirometry, skin checks and fitness-for-work assessments.
- Deliver case management (phone and face-to-face), producing high-quality management reports.
- Support, supervise and develop Occupational Health Technicians, Nurses and Administrators.
- Assist in the training, clinical supervision and development of the OH team.
- Respond to management enquiries and provide professional OH advice.
- Maintain accurate OH records in line with departmental protocols.
- Lead the development of a proactive, high-profile Occupational Health and wellbeing service.
- Support the OH Manager with clinical governance, service monitoring and audit.
- Lead or contribute to health promotion initiatives and OH projects.
- Promote equality, dignity and a positive working environment.
Criteria:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration.
- Occupational Health qualification (Degree/Diploma) desirable.
- Strong experience in the full OH remit, including case management and health surveillance.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience supervising others.
- Confident, proactive and able to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills.
Team Structure:
You will manage a small but dedicated team consisting of:
- 1 x Occupational Health Technician
- 1 x Occupational Health Nurse
- 1 x Administrator
You will play a key role in shaping the continued development of the OH function and ensuring the successful delivery of services on site.
Salary & Benefits:
- Up to £44,000 per annum (pro rata).
- Contributory pension scheme (up to 6%).
