Overview
OH Medical is currently seeking an experienced Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician to join a leading Occupational Health Provider in a Full-Time Permanent role. This opportunity will see you covering the Yorkshire region of England with some nationwide travel. Candidates will ideally live in one of the following locations: Leeds, York, Hull.
Role
The Role: This role offers the ideal chance for an experienced Occupational Health Technician to provide a mobile Occupational Health Screening Service. Your duties will include:
- Deliver Health Screening including Baseline Measurements (Height, Weight, BP and Urinalysis)
- Undertake Health Surveillance, and fitness-for-work medicals (including Audiometry & Spirometry)
- Deliver Health and Wellbeing promotion & advice
- Maintain all employee records with accurately recorded medical information
- Ensure all clinic equipment is clean, well-maintained, and in proper working condition
- Assist the broader occupational health team with their responsibilities, ensuring all information is collected and recorded accurately.
Required Skills
Required Skills: To be the successful Occupational Health Technician candidate for this role, you\’ll be:
- Previous experience working within an Occupational Health setting is preferred
- Suitable backgrounds include: Hospital Health Care Assistant; Fitness Instructor; Ambulance EMT; Military Medic; Offshore Medic
- Friendly and approachable with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in IT and digital systems
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
- Knowledgeable about patient confidentiality and data protection
- Strong educational background with good numeracy and written English skills
- Able to work under supervision and aware of professional boundaries
- The holder of a Full UK Manual Driving License (for a minimum of 12 months)
- Ideally experienced in Health Promotion, Audiometry, Spirometry & Vision testing
Travel Requirements
In the first few weeks of employment, the successful candidate will need to use either their own vehicle or a company-hired car for travel. This arrangement will remain in place until a new Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is available for use. Once an MMU is obtained, you’ll need to have a suitable space to park the vehicle at or near your home overnight. You will also need to be comfortable with the travel involved in this role, which includes regular overnight stays. Typically, you’ll be away from home for around three weeks out of every four – but you’ll always get home on Fridays for the weekend. To help support a healthy work-life balance, you’ll benefit from:
