An opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant II to support the R&D team which is responsible for all research and development activity within the organisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to molecular biology projects and support new product and process development.

Due to the nature of the projects, this role is suited to somebody who is highly organised and will take pride in delivering high-quality R&D work whilst suggesting process improvement to increase efficiency.

Your duties will include:

  • Completing and contributing to a variety of molecular biology projects, including:
  • Experimental design and implementation of laboratory work
  • Contributing to the research, development, and improvement of new and existing assays
  • Making recommendations to senior staff in a timely, thorough, and coherent manner
  • Reporting on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Monitoring relevant scientific literature
  • Maintaining lab books / electronic records
  • Presenting data at internal meetings
  • Providing assistance in the day-to-day running of the laboratory, including:
    • Maintenance of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
