An opportunity has arisen in our Oxford-based Downstream Marketing team for a Scientific Content Marketing Executive. The Downstream Marketing team are responsible for building the brand plan to promote OGT’s products and services and then delivering all the elements of the plan in collaboration with the wider marketing team. The role will drive credibility and awareness of OGT with our customers by delivering engaging and useful content.

Your duties will include:

  • Content Creation and Management: Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, engaging, and scientifically accurate content including white papers, case studies, scientific posters, blog posts, infographics and social media content. Drive content generation for external and internal events including conferences/tradeshows and webinars working with key customers. Develop and maintain content calendars and manage planning to ensure timely delivery and consistent messaging across various channels. Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to optimise content for search engines (SEO) and leverage keyword research to maximise organic visibility. Actively drive and maintain regulatory processes for content generation with the appropriate internal teams. Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to gather scientific insights and validate content accuracy.
  • Content Strategy and Planning: Support the development and execution of a comprehensive content marketing strategy, aligned with our brand plan, that drives brand awareness, engagement and lead generation with potential customers. Conduct thorough research to identify relevant scientific topics, trends and challenges that resonate with our target audience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing and product management to align content initiatives with overall business objectives. Actively measure and report on content performance and suggest optimisations based on your analysis.
  • Support Delivery of the Marketing Brand Plan: Maintain a high degree of knowledge of OGT’s products, services and target audiences. Manage day-to-day tactical campaign deliverables (working across a range of channels, including but not limited to website, social media, webinars and events, digital advertising and email marketing). Support the execution of conferences and user group meetings with bespoke content creation. Work with external agencies to generate content for public relations, such as press releases. Inputting to sales support literature and product collateral to effectively promote products.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • Essential: Degree level or equivalent in a molecular biology or genetics-based discipline. 2 or more years’ experience in scientific/medical writing, preferably within the genomics or diagnostics industry. Strong knowledge and keen interest in molecular and genetic diagnostic technology. Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to distil complex scientific information into clear, concise and engaging content. Able to utilise Word, PowerPoint and Excel to a high standard and in compliance with Brand guidelines. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Able to travel for up to 10% of their working time including internationally.
  • Desirable: Ph.D. in molecular biology or genetics-based discipline. A background in clinical genomic medicine or experience in clinical cytogenetics, molecular genetics or cancer genetics. Commercial or clinical experience in the key OGT technology areas of Arrays, FISH and NGS is highly advantageous, though broader molecular diagnostics experience will be beneficial. Experience using AI-powered tools (e.g. generative AI, LLM-based platforms) to support content ideation, drafting, editing and optimisation while maintaining strong editorial judgement and brand voice.
