We are a certified distributor for Balflex hydraulic products and operate from our specialized facility in Laurencekirk providing hydraulic hose, inserts, adaptors, seal and gauges to name a few.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivatedHydraulic / Mechanical Technicianto join our workshop team. You will be responsible for the preparation, testing, and maintenance of industrial equipment for the oil & gas, marine, and forestry sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repair:Conduct scheduled servicing, troubleshooting, and full refurbishment of mechanical and hydraulic systems, including torque units / bucking machines.
  • Assembly & Testing:Manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies and perform certified pressure testing to ensure equipment meets operational standards.
  • Technical Support:Perform on-site inspections, calibrations, and provide technical assistance to customers, occasionally traveling within the UK or overseas.
  • Documentation:Accurately complete maintenance reports and documentation for all activities.
  • Workshop Operations:Book in and visually check equipment returning from hire, ensuring all workshop procedures are followed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Technical Experience:Essential experience working with mechanical machinery; specific knowledge of hydraulic systems, hoses, and fittings is highly preferred.
  • Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to read technical drawings or schematics.
  • Licensing:A full clean driving license is required for on-site service calls.
  • Mindset:A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Advantageous:Experience in welding and fabrication is a significant plus.
