About this role: Social and content has never been more important for clients. Showing up authentically, with intention, across social platforms helps brands connect with their audiences. It helps them to sell and serve better. This role provides the opportunity to work on an exciting client with a portfolio of soft drinks brands. You will have the opportunity to manage key campaigns across the year that involve working with our strategy, creative and production teams to deliver best in class campaigns and content. This role is ideal for someone with a wide knowledge of social who has experience managing content and campaigns that build brand advocacy as well as creating assets that drive to purchase. The ideal candidate will know how to effectively lead an account, guiding processes and ways of working internally, with agency partners and with clients.

The ideal candidate will be connected across all things social—from trends that could be leveraged to a thorough understanding of how data, strategy, and community management feed into the success of a brand’s social presence. While the candidate will have a passion for delivering best in class social campaigns, they will also be expected to contribute in other areas of the marketing mix, and some integrated experience is desirable.

A bit about you: We are flexible on whether you come from an agency or client background, but the following are important for this role:

  • Organised and autonomous; you’ll motivate the team to do great work while anticipating any areas that may hinder campaign success
  • Although you will work with an Account Manager to support budgets and timings, you should also be comfortable taking ownership and have a strong understanding of processes to deliver social campaigns on budget and on time
  • Financially savvy; you’ll help deliver proposals within the client’s budgets and ensure successful delivery
  • Excellent communicator; provide clear succinct guidance to internal teams and be able to present work to clients
  • Enjoy getting hands-on, collaborating with the client and agency teams to make things happen
  • Experience in the retail sector is helpful but not essential

More about your role at Ogilvy: As a Social Account Director you lead large, more complex projects, armed with experience and the ability to think and act. You problem-solve and build highly effective relationships with clients and colleagues, collaborating with other capabilities and crafts instinctively. You may also have a solid understanding of strategy and ensure that you and the team are working towards strategic objectives.

  • Has mid-level clients relationships based on a proven track record of delivery
  • Confidently lead conversations and problem-solve in the moment; act as a point of escalation for junior clients
  • Strong skills in paid and organic social across a wide variety of clients and projects
  • Understands how to work and lead project delivery in a social-first environment, as part of an integrated team
  • Confident managing multi-level stakeholders in complex matrix organisations and managing resources and teams across levels
  • Understands the client’s strategic and business context and uses this to develop solutions and approach tasks
  • Collaborates with other capabilities to find the best social creative solution to the client’s business problem; seen as a champion for the craft
  • Demonstrates creative problem solving in all tasks, from internal process improvements to innovative social solutions
  • Takes responsibility for larger projects and is accountable for work and process
  • Manages the account team’s actions and intervenes when needed
  • Handles client expectations when charging for additional work to avoid financial risk
  • Maintains awareness of project commercials and ensures targets are met
  • Maintains strong partnerships with internal stakeholders across crafts and supports cross-functional agendas
  • Maintains strong relationships with day-to-day client stakeholders to protect and grow the work
  • Acts as an escalation point for the team and supports problem resolution
